Gallitzin Fire Company

The Gallitzin Fire Company is a 100% volunteer organization founded in September of 1903.
 
The Gallitzin Fire Company provides volunteer fire prevention, suppression, rescue services and quick response service (QRS) to the residents, visitors and those traveling through Gallitzin Borough, Tunnelhill Borough, Gallitzin Township and neighboring communities. The Gallitzin and Tunnelhill Borough Councils have recognized the Gallitzin Fire Company as the primary fire service for Gallitzin and Tunnelhill Boroughs. The Gallitzin Township Supervisors have recognized the Gallitzin Fire Company as the primary fire service for certain areas of Gallitzin Township.
 
The Gallitzin Fire Company consists of approximately twenty (20) active volunteers, manning two (2) engines, one (1) squad and one (1) utility. Service is provided from a single station located at 210 St. Thomas Street, Gallitzin, PA 16641.

Ambulance Service

The Cambria Alliance EMS provides services to the Gallitzin Borough. Currently, the ambulance service operates five Advanced Life Support [ALS] ambulances to cover approx. 150 sq. miles including, Cresson Borough, Cresson Township, Sankertown Borough, Munster Township, Loretto Borough, Allegheny Township, Ashville Borough, Lilly Borough, Gallitzin Borough, Tunnelhill Borough and Washington Township. Units are housed at three stations located in Cresson, Lilly, and Ashville. They currently operate with 8 full-time employees, 41 part-time employees.
